The spring season is here, and there are some key beauty buzz words flying about. So, we are here to educate you with everything you need to know about the latest hot topics. With us all being more and more savvy about what ingredients are in the products we use, it is a huge factor when discovering new brands and products.

At Fragrance Direct we have pulled out a handful of key players that are shining bright within the skincare world and some of the best products to try.

The first ‘Buzz Word’ is Retinol; Retinol is a form of Vitamin A and it is being used to tackle fine lines, wrinkles, pore size and texture. Retinol enhances the collagen production and promotes skin renewal. You will see the best results if you’re 30+, but that said prevention is better than cure. Creams or serums that include retinol should be applied at night as the sunlight can diminish powers so apply after you’ve cleansed for your bedtime routine.

Hyaluronic Acid mostly hidden in product descriptions as HA is our second ‘Buzz Word’. We as humans produce hyaluronic acid, but our levels can be low due to ageing and environmental aggressors. That said it can help cells retain moisture and plump skin, this is due to its power to hold water, filling out lines leaving your skin super-soft, plump and pillowy. Hyaluronic acid also contains antioxidant properties meaning it can act as a shield against free radicals for example pollution.

Silver is our next ‘Buzz Word’ and what a lovely word it is. Silver Colloidal is an ingredient known for killing germs and treating skin conditions with its medicinal properties. It can dramatically enhance the healing of damaged skin cell, scarring, anti-aging and restoration of skin as a result of any conditions. For example, if you suffer with acne this can be used to reduce inflammation and heal the blemishes or papules.

The last ‘Buzz Word’ to look out for is Algae this is an ingredient that many brands are working with due to its benefits such as hydration. It is packed with humectants that draw in moisture at a faster rate than any other natural ingredients. Algae is another antioxidant protecting your skin for the free radicals that cause premature aging, the vitamin A and B combat pigmentations and stimulate collage. Lastly it is rich in essential proteins and minerals such as amino acids and zinc which all contribute to protection and prevention of any skin woes.

If you are concerned with the effect of changing seasons on your skin or want to combat any skin troubles, then here are two products for each of our buzz words;
